Puritan Lode Claim, Derby Mine Underground Workings drawing:

craig skibiski
Illustrated depiction of the theoretical ‘Puritan Shaft’ of the relocated ‘Derby Mine’, purportedly associated to MS2424, the ‘Mineral Survey’ referenced to in multiple subdivision plats of the Highland Pines area in Prescott Arizona. The image claims it is a ‘Portion of Underground Workings’ of the 100 ft and 300 ft levels off of the ‘Puritan Shaft – Derby Mine’.

Puritan Mine or Derby Mine?

Puritan Mining Claim Shaft at Derby Mine?

Is this an illustration of the Puritan or the Derby Mine? Where was this shaft and underground tunnel working actually located? It must be either on the Puritan or the Derby, but not both. The claims do not overlap. The shafts are not shared. The Derby is not the Puritan. The MS2424 configuration is not ‘Derby Mines’ however the plat in 1907 of ‘Derby Mines’ is a mirror image of MS2424. The lode claim notices do not reflect the end result as illustrated. All references and illustrations of either are inconsistent with each other, and there are several over several years. The two lodes are not one in the same, nor are they near each other as recorded, nor are they amounting to the ‘Survey’ of J.J. Fisher in 1907, nor are they valid, because they are simply an integral part of a larger fiction.. It is important to note the details of the above depiction, such as the:

  1. The ‘line of surface croppings’
  2. The fact that it references the Puritan Shaft at or on the ‘Derby Mine’
  3. The angular aspects illustrated in relation to the surface.
  4. The date of the art.
  5. The underground tunnels that cannot be ‘above ground’, but must be ‘inside’ of a steep hill within a short distance from the ‘shaft’, etc….
